Blue Mountain Cross Country Running Camp August 17-23, 2008 $425

2008 Registration is open. As of April 1, there are less than 100 spots remaining

Blue Mountain Cross Country Camp has been the premier camp for high school runners since 1969. The camp was founded to educate and motivate in the sport of cross country. Over 8600 runners have benefited from the Blue Mountain Summer experience. Camp Directors John Malach and Dale Ladd invite you to take part in our 40th year.

Blue Mountain is for runners of ALL ability levels. We have had numerous Footlocker finalists, and runners who have gone on to compete internationally including Olympic Athletes, and Medalists. We have had countless runners take minutes off their previous 5k times and develop the self confidence, motivation, and planning necessary to succeed not only in cross country but in all aspects of life.

Bus service will be available from Buffalo, NY (Eastern Hills Mall) Rochester, NY (Marketplace Mall), Monmouth Junction, NJ, and Rockaway, NJ (Rockaway Town Square Mall). Bus service is also being expanded to new areas (call 570-998-4080 or email john@bluemountainxccamp to request bus service from new areas)

Our staff to camper ratio of about 1 to 7 allows each runner to get the individual attention that he or she needs. Each cabin has a resident staff member. Our staff consists primarily of successful high school and collegiate coaches throughout the Northeast. We also have a team of lifefuards as well as a Registered Nurse on staff.

Jim Ryun was at Blue Mountain in 2007

Each year we welcome outstanding guest runners. Jim is one of the greatest distance runners of all time and is the last American to hold the world record in the mile run.

Our 2006 Guest Speakers were Mark Carroll and Amy Rudolph. Mark and Amy both talked about how they got started in running and shared with us their transitions from high school runners, to collegiate athletes, to Olympic athletes.

In the previous 3 years, our guest speakers have included US Olympians Carrie Tollefson, Todd Williams and Kate Fonshell, as well as 2003 World Championships marathoner Kevin Collins.

The cost is $425. We have an early registration price of $395 for registrations received prior to April 1, 2008.

Are you planning on qualifying for Footlocker Nationals?

Blue Mountain has produced many Footlocker National Qualifiers in the past and we are introducing an incentive in 2007. Campers who register and attend the full week of camp and go on to qualify for Footlocker Nationals will earn airfare for his/her coach to attend the championship race in San Diego. Flights will originate from major airports.

Blue Mountain 2007

Our 2007 camp was an overwhelming successful week. 340 of us enjoyed everything from the rural dirt roads and trails, to the outstanding waterfront, to the many activities available. Some of the highlights were Jim Ryun and Molly Huddle, 5 pairs of Saucony Shoes, over $1000 in additional givaways from our friends at the National Running Center and The Super Runners Shop, Twister, the Dance, and much, much more.
